Features of Exerpeutic 1000
Assembling the Exerpeutic 1000 is not very difficult. The assembly manual has detailed instructions due to which assembly becomes a breeze. Overall, the assembly takes an hour and a half. A T-handle 6mm Allen wrench can come in handy to save a lot of time and effort during the assembly.
Although the Exerpeutic 1000 is pretty standard, it has a convenient step-thru design and is solid and well-designed. So, users, particularly senior users, can easily get on and off the bike without getting their muscles strained.
The Exerpeutic 1000 offers excellent stability even during the most rigorous workouts, thanks to its well-balanced flywheel as well as extended built-in leg stabilizers.
The Exerpeutic 1000 features a console with an LCD display which shows exercise stats including distance, time, speed, calories burned and heart rate. It also comes with the SCAN function, showing all the metrics every 4 seconds. However, the monitor is not backlit, so may be difficult to read in poor light conditions.
The display turns on once users start pedaling. It also has a timer to count down, which beeps to alert once the time is over. Once the user gets off the bike, the display turns automatically off after 4 minutes.
The monitor requires 2 AAA batteries but batteries are not included. Users should note that the replacement of the battery can reset all the metrics. Therefore, they should note down all the figures before replacement if they are seriously keeping the record.
Heart Rate Monitoring
The handlebars on the Exerpeutic 1000 have a comfortable grip and are integrated with hand pulse sensors; hence users can monitor their heart rate.
Seat, Backrest and Pedals
The seat and backrest of the Exerpeutic 1000 are oversized and offer ample comfort to the users. The seat is 16” wide. Users can set it in 10 different positions in the range of 12 inches.
However, if users of different sizes are using the bike, changing its height may be a headache, which is to be done by adjusting three different knobs. These knobs for the adjustment are located just under the seat and hence, users have to get down to adjust the height. The bike can accommodate users between 5’3” and 5’11” of height.
Pedals are large to accommodate a wide range of users. Pedals have adjustable foot straps for added safety. The leg extenders on the bike help maintain the bike in an upright position while being used.
Exerpeutic 1000 has 8 levels of resistance which is pretty common in recumbent bikes in this price range. Resistance knob can be easily reached during the exercise, allowing the user to change the level of resistance as required.
Smooth Torque Cranking
The Exerpeutic 1000 offers a Smooth Torque Cranking system with a well-balanced flywheel, V-belt drive and consistent torque. This means that users get a consistent and smooth pedaling experience with no shocks or sudden changes in tension. It also means that the machine’s noise level is kept to a minimum.
Pedals connect to the flywheel with the V-belt drive which fits into a groove in the pulley. Thus, unlike flat belts, it doesn’t have the risk of slipping off. The belt is made from strong rubber and is kept at a high level of tension, due to which users get a smooth ride.
The flywheel is precision balanced i.e. it has the same weight all around. Therefore it rotates smoothly.
The Exerpeutic 1000 has transport wheels on the front bar and users can lift it from the rear side. Thus the bike can be easily moved from one place to another.
Since there is no friction exerted on the flywheel, it makes no sound. So, the Exerpeutic 1000 causes no noise to disturb users’ family or neighbors, or while reading, watching TV, talking on the phone or playing video games.
Users just have to keep the Exerpeutic 1000 clean by dusting and wiping it regularly.
